Nov 29, 2015· But you did not define a fixed size of board. So the first step is to calculate how many characters are going to be needed to align everything nicely in a table. A board size up to 9 x 9 needs 1 digit for each number. A board size 10 x 10 up to 99 x 99 needs 2 digits for each number.
Since you have access to the server and the server script(php), you should do this with json or xml instead of separating the data with |.. Send the data from database as json. On Unity side, receive the data with WWW class then convert the json back to class with JsonUtility.. Unity's JsonUtility does not support array so you will need a wrapper against it.

Re array dimensionality, the only time you will ever use a 1D array for a 2D concept is when you want precise control over memory access in low-level code (say in C or ASM), that is, in your case and in C# in general, just use the conceptually simpler 2D array. P.S. Sorry if syntax is slightly off, C# isn't my first language these days.
